BAIUST and ICMAB Discuss Potential Collaboration
On September 12, 2024, the Department of Business Administration at Bangladesh Army International University of Science and Technology (BAIUST) hosted a strategic discussion with the Institute of Cost & Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB). The meeting aimed to explore potential collaborations between the two institutions.
The discussion began with a welcome address by Associate Professor Md Shariful Islam, followed by a speech by Professor Dr K Ahmed Alam, Director of IQAC, on the importance of driving change in quality education at BAIUST. Assistant Professor Md. Ariful Haque Chowdhury then presented the academic strengths and potential of the Department of Business Administration.
Mr. Mostafizur Rahman FCMA, former GM of Bakhrabad Gas Field Company Ltd, emphasized the significance of bridging the gap between academia and professional excellence through ICMAB’s strategic collaboration with BAIUST. Professor Dr. Mohammed Belal Uddin, FCMA, Chairman of the Department of AIS at Cumilla University, highlighted the growing market demand for professional accountants and the need to address the supply gap.
Delegates from ICMAB, including Professor Abul Kashem, Coordinator of the ICMAB Cumilla Study Centre, and Kazi Md. Asiful Alam, Assistant Officer, also participated in the discussion.
Brigadier Mohammad Nur Hossain, BSP, psc, the honorable Vice Chancellor of BAIUST, emphasized the importance of a win-win collaboration between the two institutions. He also focused on the collaboration on knowledge sharing, research work, finding industry needs etc. Dr. Fatema Johara, Head of the Department of Business Administration, delivered the closing remarks and thanked the guests. Assistant Professor Tawhid Ahmed Chowdhury moderated the program.
ICMAB expressed their keen interest in arranging the MoU signing ceremony as soon as possible, signaling their commitment to the potential partnership with BAIUST.
