The Department of English offers ample opportunities for students to facilitate their intellectual development by providing excellent exposure to the English language and literature that fosters logical thinking and creativity. Moreover, the study of different kinds of literature inspires students to discover diverse cultures, communities, people, languages, expressions, and emotions.
The students will learn to express themselves through rigorous training and presentation classes throughout the program. They will achieve splendid communication skills that will help them attain their personal and professional goals. A foundation on research using several research strategies and apt resources will enable the students to inquire about problems, form rational arguments, and find solutions to academic and real-life issues.
The Department organizes seminars, symposiums, and literary talks regularly for the students to introduce them to the current literary and intellectual trends. The students also have the opportunity to get a productive break from their studies to develop themselves through extra-curricular activities. The leadership-oriented clubs help them learn management skills and provide additional public speaking practice with team-building solid skills broadening their perspectives of the world.
In this way, an English graduate will be open to the fields that require critical and imaginative reasoning, distinct and effective writing, with the ability to interpret and analyze information.
The 4-year undergraduate program Bachelor of Arts (Honors) in English comprises 140 credits in total and the curriculum is designed on Outcome Based Education (OBE). The program offers a wide array of courses in English poetry, fiction, non-fiction, screenplays, and GED courses with the scope to explore literature from around the world, other forms of art, the English language, and related intellectual traditions. This undergraduate program will promote the creative, observational, logical, and forthcoming skills of its two flows: Language and Literature. The Department also puts forward different co-curricular activities that assist the students to improve their faculty.

(A One-Year Graduate Program in English Language Teaching)
a. Duration of the program: MA in English Language Teaching program is of one-year duration in two six- month semesters comprising two groups: Thesis group and Course-work group.
b. Admission Requirements: The following criteria will be followed in admission of students into the program:

e. Total class weeks in a semester: 14 Weeks
f. Minimum CGPA requirements for graduation: 2.50
