Code of Conduct

Students are required to adhere to the code of conduct as outlined in BAIUST standing operational procedure (SOP) Chapter 7. However, key aspects of code of conduct for which zero tolerance are maintained.

  1. Unfair means in Exams: Unauthorized assistance from written or printed document as well as all types of digital devices is strictly prohibited. Penalties include:
  • Final exams: Term repeat.
  • Mid-term exams: Loss of course credit and a fine of Tk 10,000.
  • Class tests: A fine of Tk 7,500 and test failure.
  1. Use of Drug:
  • Students found possessing or using drugs face a term repeat for the first offense.
  • Repeat offenders may face dismissal from the university.
  1. Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (SEA) Incidents:
  • Handled by the SEA Focal Point, following government instructions.
  1. Theft:
  • Handled by the Proctor using CCTV footage and witness statements.
  • If proven, the accused student will face a term repeat and a fine up to ten times the value of stolen items. Parents will also be notified.
  1. Ragging:
  • In proven cases, a minimum fine of Tk 10,000 will be imposed, parents will be informed.
  • In case of hall, the hall seat will be cancelled.
  1. Student Unrest:
  • Upon proper inquiry, leaders of such movements will face penalties ranging from a term repeat to dismissal from the university.
  1. Breach of Hall Regulations:
  • Hall seat will be cancelled and security money will be confiscated.
  • Assistant Hall Provosts will deal with the cases.
  1. Cyber Crime: It will follow the ICT act 2006.
