BAIUST Hosts Insightful Seminar on National Budget FY 2024-2025: Challenges and Opportunities
The Department of Business Administration (DBA) is running under the School of Business and offering Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA); Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Executive MBA within its current capacity. The Department of Business Administration (DBA) started its journey in August 2015. As the home of business students, the department plans to establish itself as one of the leading Business disciplines in the country.
The BBA program aims to provide students with general education, market-relevant skills, and business knowledge for their personal and professional development to meet the challenges and requirements of the business workplace locally and internationally. The overall objectives of this program are to develop the student’s intellectual capacity, executive personality, and managerial skills to enable them to assume managerial positions in business and industry, public sector organizations, consultancy companies, and other organizations.
Moreover, the department emphasizes the students’ communication skills, technical skills, and leadership qualities in core business functions, including accounting, finance, management, marketing, human resources management, and decision-making. In order to attain these objectives, students regularly discuss and solve real business problems in teams, utilizing their theoretical knowledge gained from class lectures.
The Department strives to excel with a unique blend of professionally experienced faculty members and the latest course contents to fit with the dynamic nature of the prevalent business & technology. Moreover, through the Business Club, students participate in different extra-curricular activities. The Department is also enriched with multimedia classrooms, a central library, seminar rooms, a computer lab, and Wi-Fi facilities.
In sum, the Department is committed to establishing it as the “Center of Excellence for Business Education & Research”.
BBA is an integrated program divided into eight (08) semesters in 4 years duration with 141 credits. A student can take a major from five (05) streams including Accounting, Finance, Human Resource Management, Marketing, and Supply Chain Management. Each academic year consists of two semesters. Students are enrolled in Fall and Spring terms as per admission policy. The BBA curriculum is based on Outcome Based Education (OBE).
Program Educational Objectives:
Recognizing the need to prepare highly skilled and qualified professionals for private, public, and non-profit organizations, BAIUST has designed its Executive MBA (EMBA) Program to offer a unique opportunity for the managers, executives, and professionals of local and multinational organizations to upgrade their professional expertise. The curriculum aims to orient the professionals to real-life business problems through teamwork within a lively learning atmosphere. The highly qualified and experienced faculty members also strive to enhance the students’ personal and leadership qualities. The EMBA program is committed to making professionals excel in their chosen business domain. The program also encourages professionals to become responsible to the communities, ethical in all doings, and global in outlook. The program aspires to achieve these objectives by following rigorous academic processes with an updated, market-oriented curriculum. The department hopes that the EMBA program will not only develop leaders for today but also for the future through imbibing the spirit of inquiry via case study method, intensive training, and holistic management education.
Semester-wise Course Distribution:
The MBA program aims at developing managers and leaders of the 21st century. This flexible and career-oriented program is designed to meet the needs of professionals in the corporate world. The program is open to all university graduates preparing for major career advancements. Students are required to take courses as per a predetermined sequence offered throughout the year.
