BAIUST Civil Engineering Club (BCEC) started its journey on 28th November 2016. The club plans its activities to encourage students in developing different Civil Engineering skills.

The club organize different webinars/seminars on new technology/methods where generally the nationwide renowned academicians are the speaker. Recently a technical seminar on “Reinforcement Placing in RC structures” was held where Prof. Dr Raquib Ahsan, BUET was the keynote speaker. The club also organize technical talks on local applicable solutions to Civil Engineering problems like “Maintenance of Flexible Pavements of N1 highways of Bangladesh” where Transportation specialist Brig Gen Shah Md Muniruzzaman (Retd), psc, PhD was the chair. To give knowledge on engineering management recently a seminar was conducted by Prof. Brigadier General K M Salzar Hossain, ndc, psc where he shared his vast knowledge on managing large civil engineering projects at home and abroad.

The club also arrange different certificate courses for CE students to give a vibe of professional life. Recently a short course on “Design of RC Structures” was held where Engr. Zahid Hasan, Executive Engineer, PWD Design Division-5 was the trainer.

The club also organize different Civil engineering contests like Light Truss Making, Mechanics Olympiad, AutoCad competition and Center of Gravity Selection competition on every academic calendar.

The club members regularly participate in different Inter-university Civil Engineering competition organized by renowned public and private universities. As a part of recreation and educational activity, every year BCEC organize study tours to various renowned structures which carries engineering importance.
